Frequently Asked Questions

Who is sponsoring Emmaus Radio?

You are! Like the retreats, we are a multi-parish layperson steering committee that is volunteering its time to bring the radio show and website to you. The Archdiocese of Miami is providing the airtime on Radio Peace (AM 790) but the programming, format and evangelization effort is a grassroots effort. If you are interested in volunteering your time please contact us via email using the Contact Us button on the home page.

Is Emmaus Radio sponsored by the Archdiocese?

No! The Archdiocese was instrumental in getting the show up and going and providing the airtime on Radio Peace. Volunteers, private sponsorships and some corporate donations are funding the effort. The program, like Emmaus, is a movement which depends on the volunteer efforts of lay people.

Who makes decisions on what programming will be allowed?

A multi-parish steering committee meets on a weekly basis to talk about the different subjects that are brought to you each week. You however have a say by contacting us and letting us know which topics you would like to hear about.

If Emmaus is a parochial effort, how does Emmaus Radio fit in?

The show and website should be viewed as a compliment to the Emmaus ministry at your parish, and also as a resource for it. Just like Emmaus, the program will share with you the different situations we all encounter in our lives and how, with the help of God, some of your peers dealt with them. We bring you issues of spirituality and education in the Catholic faith. We give you the means to be able to start an Emmaus retreat at your parish, or elsewhere, if you do not already have one. We provide different links to other catholic sites for your needs and we centralize the information regarding upcoming retreats in the Archdiocese as well as useful parish information, including mass times and confession schedules.
